Honey Bee Stamps Challenge 42

Hello everyone!

I am sharing today with you something different. I love Honey Bee Stamps, and seeing that they have a new Challenge on their Facebook group page,  I knew I had to jump at the chance!


As you can see from the fluer, the challenge is inspired by Pantones color for 2020, Classic Blue. Everyone is encouraged to create a monochromatic design,  and the thought of a fully blue card, had me in stitches.  Blue is my favorite color,  but truly this was a challenge to tackle. Finding a good balance for each element was important to me, specially considering I was using three different stamp sets for this project., Bushel of Love, Little Pickup and Gnome For Christmas:



I did a lot of masking for this card cover. I wanted to feature the Gnomes as Santa's helpers beyond the North Pole; gathering gifts for all the children. 

For the overall layout, I went with a slimline card base. Colored all images and background with Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers and added snow details with white gouache.

I hope you enjoyed this project share. For 2020, I plan on focusing again on my YouTube channel, so I may share my process with all of you.

Altered Project AECP Final

  Hello everyone! Today I'm sharing the second part of my final project for the Level 2 classes for the Aletnew Educator Certification Program. We got tasked with Altering or Upcycling an item, and I decided to alter this wall art piece I had gottern at Target a couple of years ago. I love the look of it, and how simple it is, but I also wanted to include pops of colors found around our house. We do have a coffee station in our home, and this will be the perfect accent piece for that space. I started by applying a bit of masking tape over the bottom black portion of the circle. I decided to add some color with Apple Barrel acrylic paint in the color Laguna. It is the perfect shade of teal (in my opinion). I didn't sand the piece before hand because I will be addimng texture, but you can definitely do that if you want full coverage. Color Throwdown Challenge #493

Hello everyone and welcome to another Card Making project, using as inspiration this week's Color Throwdown Challenge. The colors to be used this week are Teal, Lime Green and White. Simple spring/summer colors, that I thought would pair well with the new stamp set from Crafting Desert Divas called Kindness. This stamp set features a beautiful floral image that I used on both corners to create a simple , yet elegant border. I decided to color the image with my Copic Ciao Markers, following the color scheme and using some gray to add shading.  I softly added some background color with various Distress Inks, this truly helped to make the focus of this card cover the floral image. These color challenges have pushed my creativity and given a new freedom I needed to explore mediums, use things I had forgotten i had in my stash and has been a fun experience so far.
