Eny/AECP Easy Ink Blending Techniques/Altenew

Image
Hello everyone, Today's Altenew Academy project, is a very special one for me. Our family recently moved to California, and it has been a dream come true. Never in my wildest dreams, did I think I would ever get the chance to see the Hollywood sign in person. But last January, I did. It was  thrilling moment, that would commence a new chapter in my family's life, and one I'm holding near and dear to my heart. For this class, Easy Ink Blending Techniques, I used several of the tips and tricks mentioned in each lesson, to create this ode to California. I began by trimming a sheet of Neenah 80lb Smooth White cardstock, down to a standard A2 size card (4.25x5.50). I stamped my main image from the California Skies Altenew stamp set using VersaMark Intense Black Ink. This set has two "landscape" or "horizon" images (one for Los Angeles and one for Hollywood), I decided to use the Hollywood image. I found that the best way to stamp this image, is to apply the

Eny/AECP Easy Die Cutting Techniques/Altenew

Hello everyone! Eny here, with another fun Altenew Academy project. This week, I had been all about Easy Die Cutting Techniques, and created a fun, vibrant card, to share with all of you. Sometimes, and I'll be the first to admit, it can be quite difficult to figure out other ways to use our die sets in our stash. Today, I will be sharing with a very simple technique I was reminded of by taking this course. I begin by die cutting the Altenew Gradient Stripes Cover Die on a simple sheet of paper. We will be using this as a "stencil", so any scrap paper (the right size) will do. Then I trim a piece of Neenah 80lb Smooth White cardstock, down to a Standard A2 size cover. I laid my "stencil" over this surface, and begin to blend in  Aletnew Crisp Dye Ink, Buttermilk. I don't want to fully cover the surface of my paper, just enough to get a subtle and delicate background. I gathered scrap pieces of paper in the colors orange and mustard, and proceeded to cut Alte

Eny/AECP For The Guys/Altenew

Hello everyone! So excited to once again share with you a Altenew project I completed, as part of the Altenew Academy Educator Program. I was really excited for this class, because it is all about making cards For The Guys. I love making handmade gifts for my husband, but sometimes I get stuck and lose a bit of my mojo while creating. The tips and techniques I learned through this experience, have really opened door to creativity and expanded my knowledge. For this card I used the Deco Wonder Stencil with Altenew Crips Mini Inks; Caribbean Sky, Persian Blue and Sapphire, to create a a ombre effect. I did all my blending over 80lb Neenah Smooth White Cardstock, making sure to start with my lightest color. Once the surface was fully covered, I removed the stencil and trimmed the cardstock to be a American Standard A2 size card cover (4.25x5.50). The sentiments I used are from the Halftone Hello set, both were stamped using Altenew Crisp Jet Black ink. I fussy cut the large "hello&

Eny/AECP Let it Shine/Altenew

Hello everyone, Eny here again to share with you another Altenew card, as part of , my education for the Altenew Academy Educator Program. The class I focused on the past couple of days, was the Let It Shine class, where we learned all about different ways of adding sparkle, shine and glitter to our projects. For my card, I used the Build-a-Flower: Lavender stamp and coordinating die. I began by stamping my images. This one is also a set where you layer stamps, one on top of the other, until you get the full image. I got my hands on some Altenew Mini Ink cubes, so for this flower I used Soft Lilac, Lavender Fields and Deep Iris Cris Dye Inks. For the stem and leaves I used colors Firefly, Grass Field and Shadow Creek Crisp Dye Inks. Once lol images were stamped, I then cut it using the coordinating die and my Sizzix Big Shot machine.  In order to use the full image, I created a card cover that is 3.5x9 inches ( slime line card ) and a base that was only slightly bigger. You can use a
