Eny/AECP/With a Twist/Altenew

Hello everyone!

I'm back with another Altenew Educator Program class project, and this one is by far one of my favorite classes. Not only is Therese Calvird an absolute gem of an instructor, but she made it fun and interesting with new (and some well known) techniques.

I begin by trimming a heavy weight sheet of white cardstock down to 6x6 and lay the Altenew Woven Stencil right on top, and secure it with some washi tape. I will be using Distress Oxide Inks Spun Sugar, Worn Lipstick and Seedless Preserves to transfer the stencil image on to my paper. I will go from lighest to darkest colors, making sure to blend each color as I go.

Once all the color is applied, I remove my stencil, and then trim the cardstock down to a standard A2 American size card (4.25x5.50) . Using a circle die, I will cut a portion of the left side of my panel, and I will be left with an opening or window.

Using the Altenew Crisp Dye Inks Soft Lilac, Lavender Fields, Deep Iris and Midnight Violet ; I begin to stamp the layering images from the Altenew Build-a-Flower: Morning Glory stamp set. I love these types of sets, because with each color combo, you truly get a different look. I decided to use soft and deep violets, to pair it with my background panel. I stamped 3 from the forward facing flower, and 2 from the profile facing flower.

I will also be stamping the leaves included in the set, using Altenew Crisp Dye Inks Shadow Creek and Grass Field. Once all images are stamped, I will fussy cut each and start assembling my cover. I have created a base that is about an eight of an inch larger than my panel, and will adhere said panel using foam tape.

I decided to adhere all flowers, following the semi-circle from the panel. I adhere four of the flowers and all leaves with liquid glue, and the final forward facing flower I will prop up using foam tape. I finish my card by adding a sentiment from the Altenew Sentiment Strip stamp set, and Nuvo enamel drops.

Thank you so much for joining me on another Altenew class adventure, and I hope this inspired you to create something today!

Happy crafting,
Eny
